This is the second record we released with Radical, and it took a long time for it to get done! A good 2-3 year gap from the last record, and lets just say there are a lot of reasons that go into that. When we finally got the "ok" from the label to start recording we were very excited to do this record. We had a bigger budget then we've had before, and honestly felt this was the best material we've ever written. I sincerely hate to sound cliche', but I think there is a lot of growth on this record. As we usually write about our lives and the things that are going on around us, in time those things change and so does what's important, or what's not important for that matter, thus creating different subject matters for our songs. I think overall the songs have a more serious tone, and musically is some of the most creative stuff we've done yet. We sincerely had high hopes for this record, unfortunately our label didn't quite posses the same enthusiasm. Unknown to us at the time, this would also be the last record with Chris. We still consider this our strongest material to date! |

We eventually left Tank Records and signed a 3 record deal with Radical Records, this was the first release on that label. We were all excited about finally being on a label with an actual budget and being able to record an album of fresh material. However we soon learned that being on a label isn't all it's cracked up to be and they wanted to "regurgitate" material from our past album to use on this one. Out of 12 songs only 6 of them were new (all new recordings though), basically half an album of old material. But we figured that since we're finally on a label with national distribution that it would expose our music to a whole new scale of people that have never heard it before, and the ones who already have would now at least get to enjoy 6 new songs. It was an exciting time getting this record ready to be released on a "real" label, however it would also prove to be the window into the harsh reality that being on a label isn't eveything you always thought it would be. This was also our first record and first time recording with our "new" bass player Chris King who we picked up from another band that we used to play with at a fantastic venue called "The Temple" in Brooklyn, NY.....by far our most favorite place to play of all-time! |

Through internet networking we got hooked up with these guys in a band called "Smackin' Isaiah" (now known to the world as "A Wilhelm Scream") who had their own label out of New Bedford, Mass. called "Tank Records". They really liked the stuff and wanted to re-release it on their label. We all decided that 24 songs was way too many for an album, so we got it down to 12 songs (from the original 24 song release) but then also added 4 new songs we had written since recording ended, and decided to put them on this album, for a total of 16. The re-release of this album has some great memories along with it...The begining of our friendship with the bad ass boys from New Bedford now taking on the world as "A Wilhelm Scream", some great tours, and a lot of new friends. Playing at "Reflections" and the parties and John C. and Soapy's house will never be forgotten! |

This was our first release that we put out ourselves. We pretty much went into the studio and recorded every single song that we had at the time. This was a very educational experience recording in a "real" studio for the first time. I think we really learned a lot from the sessions of recording this album, especially the horrors of trying to do 24 songs! We let go of our original bass player during the recording of this record, and along with our engineer Mike (who would soon become our bassists for a short lived time), we all platooned to finish up the bass tracks. There are fond memories from this recording session. Ah the joys of being young and musically ignorant....."yeah sure, that part sounds fine, next!" |
